Thanks for givng
Thanks
This day I celebrate my friends
This day I am one step closer to finishing my MBA.
And to you my friends I am indebted
Thanks
For being being my friend
There is no better way
To say thanks
And the timing could not be better
Thanks
For being there for me
Even when things were good
Thanks
For being there
When things were not so good
Thanks

Basket of Flowers
Life is like a basket of flowers
All beautifully arrayed in their splendour
Some roses, some violets, some orchids
Neither a replacement of the other
All complementing each other
But should the rose decide
To be like an orchid
One less flower there would be
One less colour to adore, for you and me
In the individuality therein lies the beauty
And the one basket is coloured in beauty of many
Yet celebrating the beauty of oneness
As it should be
For the love that brought us together in oneness
Will let us celebrate our individuality

A lonely petal
I have often wondered
How it came to be
That so beautiful a rose
Could be like a lonely petal
Filled with empty spaces in her soul
Where juices of love did once flow
She who once was like a rose
Was now like a lonely petal
Wanting of the nourishment
That love would bring to her soul
To bring joy to the lonely tender petal
that she had become
How she got this way
One could only surmise
For I have seen roses in the wild
and tamed roses in gardens
And they both bring joy
and smiles to tender souls
Yet there she was
like a lonely rose
surrounded by petals of sadness
As if waiting for a princely bee to kiss her
And release the juices in her veins
Bringing her back to life
Then came that moment
On a fateful day
When she passed him by
And he smiled at her
And the juices flowed once again
In her veins
Waking the rose still within her soul
And though there was no kiss
She felt like she had never felt before
For in that moment
He had kissed her soul
And she was not alone anymore
She was no longer just a petal
But a rose in full bloom
As if the kiss of a princely bee
had released the juices in her being
And brought her back to life
Back to a sweeter reality

Sidewalk closed
Across the path
In the middle of the wide open sidewalk
There stood a sign
Like a boulder in the midst of my
Seemingly endless daily routine to progress
"Side walk closed" the sign said
As if to remind me
To slow down,
Even in the middle of a rush
Not that I would lose sight of my goals
Or detour away from my chosen path
But to slow down and smell the roses
Things we take for granted
Are oftentimes the things
Which bring us the most joy
And in the midst of my road to progress
I was left standing
Patiently waiting in the middle of the sidewalk
And in that moment
I realized why
There was no need to rush
As the love I sought
Was already embedded in my soul
As it was the day
When I looked at the reflection
Of my soul
In the middle of a glassy lake
Far away from nowhere
